We are now taking applications to serve on our youth advisory board in 2024. Youth advisory board members are valued members of the BOBA Project team, and they provide their perspectives on our research, community engagement, and issues that affect the Asian American community.

Eligibility:

• Be in 8th-11th grade.

• Identify as ethnically Chinese.

• Live in the Greater Boston area.

​

Responsibilities: 

• Check email and Slack regularly.

• Attend all in-person and online meetings, barring extenuating circumstances.

• Be punctual and professional.

• Actively engage in all meeting activities and discussions.

• Demonstrate commitment to the BOBA Project's goals, taking the initiative to provide input on how we can improve the study.

Youth advisory board members will receive a $500 stipend for their participation.

Applications are due January 22, 2024 at 11:59 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

How to Prepare for Application:

1. Learn about the project by enrolling in the project as a participant! There is no better way to learn the ins and outs of the research process. As a participant, you gain exposure to study designs, research protocols, and data collection.

4. Before you complete this application, please be prepared to ask an adult to serve as your reference. Your reference can be any adult who can attest to your character and recommend you as a good fit for the Youth Advisory Board (e.g., teacher, coach, employer, etc). Your reference cannot be a family member or a friend.

Please use this email template to ask an adult to serve as your reference. In this email, there is a link to a form that your adult reference must complete. You are free to edit the email template, but make sure that it still has the form link and the deadline.

It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your adult reference completes their form by the application deadline on January 22th, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Plan ahead and give your reference enough time to fill out the form. 

 

A complete application includes both this Google form application and a corresponding reference form. All Youth Advisory Board applications without a corresponding reference form will be considered incomplete.
